FY2022 Budget Highlights

Local Earmarks

The following local budget earmarks, which Rep. Scanlon advocated for in the House, were included:


"$40,000 shall be expended to the North Attleborough school district for the purpose of replacing failed and outdated ventilators with new unit ventilators in the North Attleborough school buildings"


"$15,000 shall be expended for facility and storage improvements to Our Daily Bread in the town of Mansfield"


"$50,000 shall be expended for programmatic activities, productions and capital improvements and upgrades to the Massachusetts Music & Arts Society in Mansfield"

Regional & Statewide Earmarks

The following regional and statewide earmarks, which Rep. Scanlon advocated for in the House, were included:


"$200,000 shall be expended for the Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Program to expand its services to include the Massachusetts School Nurse Liaison Project to provide services including, but not limited to: (i) educational programming for school staff; (ii) consultation services; and (iii) resource development to assist school districts and private schools in addressing the mental health needs of their students, as a continuation of the existing McLean School Nurse Liaison Project"


"For the implementation, operation and expansion of innovation pathway programs; provided, that such programs shall incorporate the guiding principles of innovation pathway programs, as developed jointly by the department of elementary and secondary education and the department of higher education; and provided further, that preference shall be given to programs that encourage career opportunities in high demand industries... $600,000"

We were proud to lead the funding requests for North Attleboro school building ventilators, the Massachusetts School Nurse Liasion Project, and innovation pathways in the House Budget. Special thanks to Senator Paul Feeney for his leadership in securing funding for the Massachusetts School Nurse Liasion Project in the Senate; special thanks to Senator John Cronin for leading the charge on Innovation Pathways in the Senate.

An additional shout out and thanks to Mansfield Representative Edward Phillips for his leadership in advocating for Our Daily Bread in the House Budget, and another shout out to Senator Feeney for taking lead on funding for the Massachusetts Music & Arts Society in Mansfield in the House Budget. We were honored to partner with all of you to secure these key local funding initiatives.
